Northwest Pediatrics places their focus on the newborn child, the mother and the family at this amazing time of bringing a child into the world. We bring over 30 years of pediatric experience to you and your child. Our offices offer 24 hour, 7 day a week availability for newborns, separate sick and well waiting and exam rooms, as well as newborn exam rooms that offer the comfort of glider rocking chairs. Most of all, we offer care and concern for the whole family.

The Interview Process for Prospective Parents
If you wish to interview the staff of NWP, we encourage you to make an appointment a few months before delivery. Our appointments are individual sessions with the family and doctors, and occur at 5:00 p.m. each evening to ensure a focus on your needs. We will discuss the following and more with you at this time:

  • Review and understanding of immunizations
  • Pro’s and con’s of circumcision
  • Guidance and insight on breast and formula feeding
  • Pro’s and con’s of daycare
  • Expertise and care of NWP

On the Day of Birth
On the same day the baby is born, we will visit the mother and child in the hospital that evening. At that time we will provide:

  • Well-being examination
  • Take home care instructions
  • Guidance and insights on feeding – either breast or formula
  • If desired by the family, circumcision with local anesthesia

Regular Newborn Visits
After departure from the hospital, your baby will be seen in the first 4 to 7 days. From there, you will bring your baby in at 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months and 1 year. During these visits we will discuss the following:

  • Growth and development
  • Sleeping needs
  • Feeding needs
  • Behavioral issues
  • Sibling acceptance and well-being
  • Family acceptance and well-being
  • Well-being of the mother
